LAURA Mckinlay from Crossroads Pharmacy in Port August has been named as the South Australian state finalist in the Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Awards.
Mckinlay was chosen from among 19 other finalists at a workshop where each participant demonstrated their pharmacy knowledge, as well as skills in customer service and leadership.
Pharmacy Guild of Australia Training Manager, Deborah Scholz, said "the calibre of candidates this year is extremely high...it was a hard task to pick just one winner, but Laura really shone".
Also at the workshop, Megan Hulbert from United Chemist Marion Domain received the Glucogel Super Star Award for outstanding customer service skills in community pharmacy.
Maxigesic is a major sponsor of the awards alongside GuildSuper and Glucogel, with the national winner to be announced at the 2018 Pharmacy Assistant National Conference on the Gold Coast in late Oct.
The overall winner will take home more than $10,000 in cash, prizes and awards - more information at pharmacyassistants.com.
