THIS year's Tom Watson Oration sponsored by the Faculty of Pharmacy, The University of Sydney, was delivered by Professor Deanna Kroetz from the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco.
Professor Kroetz's presentation was titled "Challenges and Opportunities for Implementation of Pharmacogenomic Findings" and covered the fundamental science and clinical evidence guiding the impact of a person's genetic make-up and how this can be used to guide drug and dose selection of medicines for optimal treatment across a range of clinical areas.
