A RECENT study had found
probiotics in yoghurt including LGG
(lactobacillus rhamnosus) and BB-
12 (bifidobacterium animalis ssp.
Lactis BB-12) reduced the duration
and severity of upper respiratory
tract infections.
The study involved 200 college
students aged 18-25 and found that
those who consumed products
containing LGG and BB-12 once a
day for 12 weeks had colds that
lasted two days less than those
students taking the placebo and their
